Before and after treatment photos

The DOC Band® is the only custom cranial helmet supported by over 25 years of documented outcomes. It’s been used to safely and successfully treat over 100,000 babies with plagiocephaly. Below are actual before and after photos of infants treated with the band at various ages for one of three abnormal head shapes.

What results might I expect from the DOC Band?

While the DOC Band has proven results, every baby’s case is unique. As you consider your baby’s potential outcome, there are a few key factors to keep in mind. Your baby’s age, the severity of her or his condition, and the consistency with which you follow the recommended treatment regimen will all influence the final outcome.

Age
Research has shown that the earlier treatment starts, the faster results can be achieved and the better overall outcome can be.

  • In children under five months old, changes can be seen within the first week of wearing the band 23 hours a day.
  • In children under 12 months old, changes can be seen within the first two weeks of treatment.
  • In children over 12 months old, changes can be seen within the first 2 to 3 weeks of treatment.

Severity
As with any condition, the more severe the form of plagiocephaly, the more complex it will be to correct. For this reason, it’s especially important that babies with severe plagiocephaly begin treatment as early as possible.

Consistency
In order to achieve the best possible results for your baby, it’s important that everyone who cares for your child understands and carefully follows all treatment protocols. The DOC Band should be worn 23 hours a day, growth adjustments should be made regularly, and if needed, your baby’s neck muscles should be stretched and exercised daily.
