1) You will need a prescription from your child's physician (some
pediatricians will make the diagnosis, others will prefer to send the
infant to a specialist)
2) Once you have a prescription, Cranial Technologies will work with
your insurance company to get pre-authorization. This may entail sending
a letter of medical necessity from your physician, medical photos and
measurements as well as descriptions of the DOC Band. Our Patient Coordinators
will guide you through this process. Pre-authorization can take as long
as 3 weeks…
3) Once the pre-authorization is complete, treatment can begin.
**Free Consultations: Any Cranial Technologies Clinic offers consultations at no charge. At this visit we will explain what plagiocephaly is, how to look at your infant's head shape, show you a DOC Band, and take measurements and photos if requested by your insurance. All CTI Clinics are also available to answer your questions by phone.
