Summer means sunshine, trips, and plenty of outdoor fun—and if your baby is wearing a DOC Band®, the warmer months don’t have to slow down their playtime. Whether you are heading to the park, the pool, or just out for a stroll, here are some easy, parent-approved tips to help keep your little one cool and comfortable while continuing treatment.

Summer is a time for sunshine, adventure, and sweet family memories-but for babies wearing a DOC Band, the heat can bring some added challenges. With just a little preparation, your baby can stay cool, comfortable, and on track with treatment all season long.
Parents are often the first to notice torticollis in their babies due to a head position. It is important to address these concerns with your baby's pediatrician.
1. Lightweight Clothing: Dress your baby in soft, breathable layers.
2. Cool the Car First: Run the air conditioning for a few minutes before placing baby in their car seat.
3. Use Cooling Accessories: Clip-on stroller fans, cooling towels, and soft ice packs can help regulate your baby’s temperature during outdoor activities.
4.Towel-Dry Gently: It’s okay to remove the DOC Band® briefly to gently towel-dry your baby’s head, then put the band back on-it won’t affect treatment.
5. Water Play Reminder:The DOC Band® should be removed during swimming and bath time. Once baby’s head is dry, it can be put right back on.
Hot car seats can make summer outings uncomfortable—but a few quick tricks can help keep your baby’s ride cool and treatment-friendly:
1. Pack a small cooler or insulated bag with a frozen ice pack.
2. While you're out, lower the car seat harness and place the ice pack on the seat, covering it with a light blanket to trap the cool air.
3. Before strapping your baby in their seat, remove the ice pack and return it to the cooler for reuse later.
These simple small steps can make a big difference in keeping your baby comfortable during summer car rides.
