The EarWell® Infant Ear Molding System offers a safe, non-surgical option to support healthy ear shapes.
Sometimes it’s subtle. Sometimes it’s obvious. A folded or flattened ear, one ear that sticks out more than the other, a misshapen rim or unusual curve. The first 1–3 weeks are ideal for correcting your baby’s ear shape. EarWell® is a newborn ear molding system, commonly known as newborn ear molds, providing safe, non-surgical correction.
Ear molding newborn treatment before and after photos show the impact of early treatment. EarWell® is soft, safe, and designed to help babies grow with confidence— starting with their very first weeks.
The Conchal Former will not affect hearing as it has perforations and a front opening that permit the admission of sound waves. Its presence will not affect hearing while the device is on the child or after it is removed.
EarWell is painless and will not interfere with the child’s sleep. No special adjustments or precautions need to be taken with the child’s sleeping position.
EarWell should not impact nursing. It is recommended that a soft cloth be strategically placed during feeding to prevent milk from entering the cradle.
Yes. The adhesive bond is ineffective unless attached directly to the skin. Hair beneath the adhesive allows motion which can cause skin irritation and failure to hold the internal components in their proper position.
Infants may cry during the application but not because there is any pain. General soothing approaches should help to calm (swaddling, pacifier, etc.)
EarWell is a soft flexible ear covering containing specialized components that resolve all external ear challenges. It works best on babies within 1-6 weeks of age while the ears are at their most pliable.
The simplicity of the EarWell design enables a single, universal protocol to correct most, if not all, types and severities of ear deformity.
The entire EarWell procedure is completed in a few simple steps—in just minutes.

Clinical testing (Byrd 2010) shows a ≥90%* success rate when treatment starts before 3 weeks of age. Treatment is not recommended to start before 1 week old and can be treated up to 6 weeks of age.
Circulating maternal estrogen left over from pregnancy gives infants’ cartilage high flexibility. Baby ear cartilage starts to harden at about 6-7 weeks of age. If babies are born prematurely, the cartilage stays softer for longer.
The average course of therapy for EarWell® is between 4 and 6 weeks.
Typically, two applications are needed for a total of 4 weeks of treatment. In more severe cases, three applications may be indicated in a six-week treatment time.
Any child who initiates therapy beyond a week and who presents more challenging types of deformity (prominent ear, cup ear, cryptotia) should be treated to a full, 6-week course of therapy (in rare circumstances treatment time may extend to 8 weeks).

In the first weeks of life, maternal estrogen keeps a newborn’s ear cartilage soft and moldable, allowing many deformities to be corrected non-surgically before the cartilage firms.
The ideal treatment window is typically within the first 1–3 weeks of life, when ear cartilage is most responsive to molding.
Treatment is well tolerated and results in successful correction in 90%+ of infants.
All we treat are babies. And we’ve been doing it for 40+ years.
